AS A BROOK

from An Apogee

as a brook well-versed with the sea,
thy waves a well of Bethlehem to me.
a starry host, accosting eyes:
those million bright seraphic fires
innumerable, those sands of the sea,
and ever as I fainting be,
draw me swooning to the shore
where thee my brook fills evermore.
